ABOUT THE POSITION:

As a Chemist you will play a key role in leading research and development efforts to create high-quality, safe, and innovative cosmetic products. You will be responsible for developing and formulating new products, optimizing existing formulations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Formulate and develop new cosmetic products in line with company objectives and market trends.
  • Conduct research and experimentation to improve existing formulation and develop innovative cosmetic ingredients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Research and Development, Quality Control, and Production to ensure product consistency and quality.
  • Perform stability testing and analysis to ensure product efficacy and shelf-life.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and advancements in cosmetic chemistry to inform product development strategies.
  • Conduct ingredient sourcing, evaluation, and selection based on safety, efficacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Generate and maintain accurate documentation including formulation records, batch records, and regulatory documentation.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during scale-up and production processes.
  • Participate in regulatory compliance activities including ingredient safety assessments, label review, and product registration.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to product formulation, stability, and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Cosmetic Chemist in the beauty industry.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in cosmetic formulation development.
  • Strong knowledge of cosmetic raw materials, ingredients, and formulation techniques.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment and techniques used in cosmetic product development and analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for cosmetic products (e.g., FDA) and experience with cosmetic ingredient safety assessments.
  • In-depth knowledge of cosmetic chemistry, raw materials, formulation techniques, and industry regulations.
