As a Mechanical Gas Turbine Specialist based in Houston, you will play a vital role in overseeing the execution of equipment and facilities repairs within the power generation plant industry. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure the seamless operation of the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the PRISMECS, safety, and environmental programs.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to power generation plants.
  • Collaborate with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) department, adhering to their directives and guidelines.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance in facilities and equipment following OEM manuals, industry best practices, and guidance from the Plant Manager.
  • Set and maintain high personal standards as an example to others.
  • Proactively report and address substandard performance and equipment installations.
  • Update maintenance history in logbooks, reports, and digital files.
  • Ensure the correct execution of the fluid testing program in equipment.
  • Propose maintenance activities to the Plant Manager with sufficient anticipation for coordination with the Operations department.
  • Coordinate with the Operations department to minimize the impact on plant availability during equipment interventions.
  • Support and train operation staff to ensure correct operations of plant facilities and equipment.
  • Mentor, coach, and provide training in coordination with the Plant Manager.
  • Address emergencies resulting from equipment failures promptly.
  • Track fluid test program compliance and implement corrective measures.
  • Propose a list of essential parts, consumables, tools, and materials to the Plant Manager.
  • Work closely with the Plant Manager to support inventory audits and confirm material availability.
  • Ensure correct use and care of tools and auxiliary equipment by all personnel on-site.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and provide relevant information under your responsibility.
  • Execute scheduled work during control room shifts, including operating SCADA, Protection and Control Systems, conducting preventive routine inspections, and daily reporting.
  • Perform general facilities maintenance and support activities assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Promptly communicate incidents, accidents, injuries, environmental violations, equipment failures, and other critical events during your shift.
  • Uphold housekeeping, energy conservation guidelines, and environmental regulations.
  • Contribute to team efforts and support other areas of the plant to achieve established goals.
  • Work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment to meet contract compliance and customer satisfaction.
  • Consult with the Plant Manager on major technical issues and work planning, while demonstrating the ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Technical School degree or higher.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • 3 years of work experience in power plants with TM2500 gas turbines technology; Generation 8 experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience in tribology.
  • Familiarity with predictive and proactive maintenance practices and techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in shift rotations.
  • Basic knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14000, and OHSAS 18001 is a plus.
