Job Description

Community Action Partnerships of Western Nebraska (CAPWN) is a non-profit community-based health and human services organization that serves low-income, disadvantaged and those unable to meet their needs through other sources. The agency was established in 1965 and provides services to over 9,000 individuals, children and families in three main areas:

  • Community Health Services: WIC, Commodity Supplemental Food, Foster Grandparents, Migrant Seasonal Head Start, and Child Development Center.
  • Clinical Health Services: Primary Care, Reproductive Health, Diabetes Management, Immunizations, Migrant Health, Ryan White HIV; Behavioral Health including Counseling Services, Medication Management, Medication Assisted Treatment and Substance Use Counseling and Intensive Outpatient Services and Dental Services.
  • Supportive Health Services: Family Stabilization, a Teen Outreach Program, SOAR, Youth Leadership Program, Youth Shelter and Housing Assistance Programs.

Ultrasound Technician- Part Time

Part-time Tuesday and Thursday 8:30AM to 5:30PM

Areas of Responsibility:

The Ultrasound Technician shall provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures to examine parts of the human body including the abdomen, reproductive systems, prostate, heart, and blood vessels. The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating the results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. The Ultrasound Technician is also responsible for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assurance and assessment (QA). The Ultrasound Technician shall always maintain a high standard of medical ethics and shall continually increase the level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.

Major Duties:
  1. Perform clinical assessments and diagnostic sonography examinations.
  2. Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic information .and images.
  3. Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
  4. Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, and medical history, and communicate findings to the proper physician.
  5. Coordinates work schedule with other related staff and supervisor, and/or schedulers to assure that workload is covered.
  6. Assumes responsibility for
