Position: Adjunct Instructor - Chemistry
Avila University is recruiting for adjunct instructors in chemistry for multiple part-time appointments for Fall 2024 and Spring 2024
- Teaching responsibilities will include: Lectures and/or labs for Introductory Chemistry (e.g. Principle of Chemistry, General chemistry I & II)
- Conduct all class sessions according to the assigned schedule.
- Provide instruction, activities, assignments, assessments, and feedback to adequately cover all objectives for the specific course(s) taught.
- Deliver content using effectual methods which are appropriate to students with differing abilities, levels of preparation, and cultural experience.
- Work effectively with the program Chair and/or the Laboratory Manager.
- Perform other duties as needed related to assigned courses.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in specific discipline relevant to teaching responsibilities or a Master's degree in another area with 18 credit hours of discipline graduate coursework from an accredited university/college.
- Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching.
- Teaching experience with a diverse population (preferred).
- Multilingual skills highly preferred.
- Ability to contribute to a climate that supports a diverse student body, serves first-generation college students, multilingual learners, and contributions to equity and social justice through their work.
