Electronics Manufacturing and Testing Technician

Position Summary:
Responsible for the electronic testing and any necessary electronic board solder work to support electronic engineering efforts. Responsible for the assembly of finished electronics products, components, or sub-assemblies. Reads work instructions, work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. Assembles various parts of manufactured products using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. Creates assembly procedures for all manufactured products. Responsible for inspecting and testing products from external vendor’s production runs to verify quality of manufacturing (called Destructive Investigations). Work with other areas of Product Development to help test components, systems and software. Ability to investigate customer returns and either refurbish or scrap product. Essential Skills and Experience:
Electronics skills, 3 + years
AMR/AMI experience a plus; Utility water industry a plus.
Ability to read schematics
Ability to solder and assemble boards from schematics
Ability to understand failure methods and determine ways to test
Experience working with hand tools and power tools to assemble products
Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm’s length stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Ability to read & understand procedures, layouts
Ability to document procedures, methods and suggestions
Willingness to test units, systems and software with an eye to find issues.
College degree or equivalent experience desired
Travel up to 10% will be required at times.

General electronics technician functions working on the Stealth AMI system.
40%
Responsible for the final assembly of finished Stealth products, components, or sub-assemblies. Inspects and tests all finished products, components, subassemblies, etc. to assure they meet the accepted quality standards.

Assembles various parts of manufactured products using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.

Prepares technical reports for customers and management as required
