This Opportunity

FPA is currently seeking a full-time CADD Manager based at our Wall Township, NJ headquarters. We are in search of a dynamic leader to spearhead our Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) initiatives. As we raise the standards for engineering excellence, we invite you to play a pivotal role in our journey. This critical position will report directly to a Senior Vice President.


Core Responsibilities

  • Lead FPA’s CAD management, driving drafting standards, development of details library, hardware/software/network evaluations, data maintenance, procedures, and training.
  • Advance procedures that integrate the latest standards and equip designers, engineers, and newcomers with the skills they need to excel.
  • Develop and maintain CADD standards that meet and exceed the requirements of agencies across our client base.
  • Collaborate with our Technical Departments to craft High Quality Drawings and CAD QA procedures that ensure project perfection.
  • Develop training program for interns, new hires, and existing staff to empower users in all aspects of CAD.
  • Keep our standards at the forefront of the industry by continually developing and maintaining CADD standards for our client base, including NJDOT, DELDOT, PA Turnpike, and PENNDOT.
  • Oversee procurement, management, and optimization of appropriate software licensure.
  • Navigate through the complex terrain of geospatial data, expertly interpreting various forms including Aerial Imagery and GIS topography data. All this is done using ArcMap (ArcGIS) to craft engineering-related projects with precision.
  • Provide unrelenting support through software testing and troubleshooting for our engineering design & CADD programs. Keep a vigilant log of common troubleshooting issues.
  • Be the guardian of compliance by reviewing CADD drawings for adherence to standards and requirements, whether they come in hard copy or electronic form.
  • Step in as the primary point of contact for end-users seeking assistance with software, project workflows, and design technical issues.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers and discipline leads to assign CADD standards to projects, ensuring high quality and milestones met.
  • Uphold, develop, and reinforce all CADD standards for our company and clients, ensuring project success is non-negotiable.
  • Specialize in all elements of design using the latest technology, including Autodesk, Revit, Civil 3D, Microstation, Inroads, Navisworks, and Projectwise.
  • Bring your expert counsel to management on program implementation, equipment needs, and the evolution of technological and support strategies.
  • Share your technical expertise, knowledge, and support with departmental divisions and other departments, ensuring the harmony of engineering and design support activities.

Required Qualifications

  • 15 plus years of experience in CADD management within the field of consulting engineering/architecture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, or a related field is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, ArcGIS, and MicroStation.
  • A charismatic leader with unparalleled training and leadership skills.
  • A profound understanding of engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with DOT standards and regulations.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a knack for innovative problem-solving.
  • Extraordinary organizational and project management skills.
