Licensed Clinician

This is a professional clinical position and member of a multidisciplinary team which assumes the responsibility for providing comprehensive, community-based treatment and support services to individuals experiencing chronic homelessness due to factors including substance abuse, mental illness, and/or chronic physical illness.

Core Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Performs psychosocial assessments, treatment planning/monitoring and discharge planning.
  • Provides individual, group, and family counseling to individuals requiring complex interventions including but not limited to homelessness, substance abuse, mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or chronic physical illness.
  • Organizes support groups or counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting the client
  • Acts as consumer advocate in order to coordinate required services or to resolve crisis
  • Performs commitment determinations and/or execute orders of involuntary commitments.
  • Provides case management services related to identified treatment needs
  • Refers consumer or family to community resources to assist in recovery from mental or physical illness and to provide access to services such as financial assistance, legal aid, housing, job placement or education
  • Monitors, evaluates, and records client progress according to measurable goals described in
  • treatment and care plan
  • Adheres to regulatory bodies and licensing rules, guidelines and established protocols to carry out all duties required by contract, licensure, accreditation, and certification relative to agency, program, service assignment and agency designated models of treatment.
  • Provide clinical supervision to other members of treatment team.
  • Participates in "on-call" rotation for afterhours responsibilities
  • Assist with the development of therapeutic group activities; assist with the implementation of group activities at the Drop-In Center.
  • Provide training and learning opportunities for staff on Best Practices and other therapeutic techniques.
  • Responsible for review of assessment, treatment plans, and other documentation; provide feedback to staff and facilitate improvement as needed.
  • Facilitate treatment team meetings and client staffing. Document meeting minutes, identify strategies, action plans and follow up.
  • Assist Program Supervisor as needed.

Pre-requisite Requirements:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or other human services field.
  • Current State of Florida License in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or a related human services field.

Supervision: This position reports to the Team Leader and provides clinical supervision to other non-licensed team members.
