Position Overview:
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced a $1.96B Community Change Grants Program (Inflation Reduction Act Community Change Grants Program | US EPA). EnDyna has a contract from EPA to provide technical assistance to the communities under this grants program and we have an immediate need for an experienced Pollution Reduction SME to provide support to communities. EnDyna has also set up a web site for communities seeking technical assistance (www.communitychangeta.org). This is a hybrid position based out of our Tysons Corner, VA office.
As the Pollution Reduction SME, you will be a key member of our team, providing technical expertise and guidance to support communities in implementing pollution reduction strategies. Your role will involve hands-on assistance and collaboration with community members to ensure effective project implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Helping communities develop budget and milestones for implementing pollution reduction strategies is major aspect of the role.
- Indoor air quality and community health improvement
- Outdoor air quality and community health improvement
- Clean water infrastructure to reduce pollution.
- Safe management of solid and hazardous waste
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to communities on pollution reduction strategies.
- Collaborate with community stakeholders to identify and prioritize pollution reduction projects.
- Develop and implement action plans to address pollution challenges, focusing on indoor and outdoor air quality, water infrastructure, and waste management.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of pollution reduction initiatives.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations, policies, and best practices in pollution reduction and environmental health.
Key Requirements:
- MS or PhD in Environmental Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in pollution reduction strategies and community engagement.
- Strong understanding of indoor and outdoor air quality, water infrastructure, and waste management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and policies related to pollution reduction and environmental health.
