Stargate School is currently seeking to hire a Speech Language Pathologist to provide services to students at our K-12 campus. This is a full time (1.0 FTE) position.

This is a 40 hour full time weekly, 9 month position. The salary starts at $61,000.00 and may increase depending on experience and education level. Responsibilities:

  • Follow and implement federal, state, and district mandates, processes, and procedures for identifying and providing IEP service minutes to qualified students
  • Provide direct and indirect services/supports to students, KIndergarten- Grade 12.
  • Assist in developing speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students.
  • Establish a positive working environment and respond to the individual needs of students.
  • Appropriately document learning activities and service minutes in student learning plans and IEPs
  • Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team to conduct assessments for students referred for special education evaluation.
  • Provide short-term Rtl (Response to Intervention) support when appropriate based on the MTSS Team's Intervention Plan.

  • Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations with students and parents
  • Follow and positively support guidelines as outlined in Stargate Staff Handbook.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job. Includes adapting to and mastering new systems applications and processes as implemented by the district/school.
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
  • Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, Stargate Policies and building and department procedures.
  • Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals.
  • Operating knowledge of district/school technology systems and any other department specific software and equipment within two months of entering the position.
  • Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, such as telephones, copier, fax machine, e-mail, etc.

Requirements:

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

  • Current Special Services Provider License issued by CDE.
  • Master's Degree in Speech Pathology or similar field required.

Experience:

  • Experience working as a speech/language specialist in a public school setting preferred, but not required
  • Experience with augmentative communication devices
  • Experience and/or training in providing direct intervention for students identified as Twice Exceptional , either as a Service Provider or as an integrated Service Provider to other special education programs
  • Experience in student assessment, data collection and report interpretation
