Lead Network Architect

Summary:

Experienced data center network architect specializing in transitioning on-premise data centers to Azure cloud. Responsible for analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure to meet business objectives. Works in San Francisco Bay area with a blend of onsite and remote support.

Responsibilities:

• Transition on-premise data centers to Azure cloud, focusing on network security, DMZ/Extranet, VPN, and user internet services.
• Automate network deployment and data collection tasks for enhanced productivity.
• Document support strategies and maintain comprehensive network documentation.
• Support physical design and installation of data center components.
• Implement security tools and procedures in collaboration with security team.
• Act as a liaison with vendors and resolve issues effectively.
• Lead problem management and provide complex technical support.
• Identify and resolve security issues and vulnerabilities.
• Perform network maintenance, upgrades, and monitoring.
• Provide network health reports and automate alerts triage.
• Develop testing platforms and tools to reduce downtime and improve network operations.
• Set operational and project goals and collaborate globally for business outcomes.
• Identify improvement opportunities across policies, processes, and procedures.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and assist with new office openings.
• Lead IT infrastructure projects from design to installation.
• Develop business justifications and project manage infrastructure projects.
• Act as a technical vendor liaison and communicate IT infrastructure needs.
• Perform system tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Develop and document standards, policies, and procedures for IT network environments.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in Cisco environment network engineering.
• 5 years of experience supporting/managing hosted Data Centers.
• Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco Networking Equipment, Firewall Management Console (FMC), Netskope, Cisco ISE, Cisco Remote Access (AnyConnect), and Azure Firewall administration.

Preferred Skills:

• CCNA or CCNP certifications.
• Experience with Forcepoint, Network Access Control solutions, Forescout, Cisco DNA, Cisco Nexus Dashboard, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Dynatrace, Forward Networks, Cisco Wireless solutions, SD-WAN, InfoBlox, Configuration Drift Detection and Remediation, Security Posture Assurance, Disaster Recovery, ITIL Certification.
• Proficiency in centralized policy management and cloud knowledge/experience with Azure.
