Instrumental Music Teacher

Nichols School has an opening for a creative and detail-oriented Full-Time Music Teacher to lead our Middle School Band Program and an Upper School ensemble beginning with the 2024-2025 school year. Our educational philosophy is grounded in equity of process and outcomes, and inspired by our mission to train minds, bodies, and hearts for the work of life.

The Instrumental Music Teacher is responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of the Middle School Band curriculum (grades 5-8) and an Upper School instrumental ensemble curriculum. The successful candidate must be able to transfer their enthusiasm for and deep understanding of music to students using multiple modalities and authentic applications to make learning relevant and meaningful for students. Differentiation, collaborative learning, and performance-based assessment are expected instructional strategies. Candidates will be required to maintain open lines of communication with students and families.
