Quality Inspector - Second Shift

A growing and profitable manufacturer of aerospace parts in Simi Valley is looking to hire an Inspector I. In this position, you will inspect mechanical parts from production.

Location: Simi Valley
Salary: $20.00 - $24.00/hr (DOE)
Shift Hours: Second shift
This is a full-time temp-to-hire position

Responsibilities:

• Use a variety of measuring instruments to inspect parts, products and processes to ensure conformance with standards
• Read and interpret the requirements of drawings and planning.
• Analyze drawings and planning requirements and make sound determination(s) of the appropriate inspection method/equipment to be used for product acceptance.
• Use all inspection/test equipment, this includes the usage of a coordinate measurement machine (CMM) manual and/or DCC, in determining product acceptance.
• Construct complex inspection set-up(s) and perform required inspections (using set-up) to determine product acceptance.
• Initiate and complete all quality (Inspection) related records and documents with minimal supervision.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 year prior experience in standard mechanical inspection; as “Grade B” Inspector (or equivalent) or better.
• Basic knowledge of ASME-Y14.5 (Geometric Tolerance) and ability to apply/inspect to requirements with minimal supervision.
• Experience with measuring product of titanium materials.
• Ability to use a microscope for detecting cosmetic defects.
• Ability to facilitate communications with Manufacturing and Engineering in determining inspection methods to ensure part conformity.
• Ability to support PPAP’s, facilitate PFMEA’s and Control Plans.
• Self starter
• Able to multitask with inspections in a fast pace environment.
• Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder)
