General accounting and tax responsibilities within the accounting team; focuses on tax preparation, return reviews, income tax audit support, and property tax matters. Assists in the management of the insurance programs within a large volume of asset types. Handles job responsibilities in a timely and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and reviews tax packages, ensuring accurate gathering of information from various business units for federal and state income tax returns.
• Oversees and manages the preparation of all partnership tax returns and corporate consolidated tax return.
• Oversees tax fixed assets.
• Assists with taxable income projections at different levels within the corporate tax structure.
• Manages tax deadlines to avoid late filings.
• Prepares and manages the property tax return reporting requirements in multiple states.
• Provides support for tax incentive projects and associated reporting.
• Prepares and reviews income tax account reconciliations along with required payments.
• Monitors and reconciles income tax payments.
• Conducts research on tax issues and handles tax notices promptly.
• Stays proactive in monitoring changes in tax law to facilitate effective planning, compliance, and reporting.
• Assists with the management/organization of insurance related matters.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 5 years of relevant work experience
• CPA preferred
• Exhibits a strong foundation of accounting, tax reporting, and technical taxation skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office computer skills, especially with Excel.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Exceptional prioritization, organization, and time management skills.
• Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
• Adheres to strict deadlines.
• Works independently without direct supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Tax preparation experience with C Corps, S Corps, Partnerships & individuals.
