Job Summary: Assistant Auxiliary Services Coordinator

The Assistant Auxiliary Services Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Auxiliary Services Coordinator in the daily operation for Card Services and The Life U Shop. This includes but is not limited to the managing of staff, providing customer service to students and faculty, maintaining inventory for Card Services and Life U Shop, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction. This position requires an individual that is self-starter, organized, pays attention to detail, and delivers quality customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service.
  • Be knowledgeable on Eagle Card functionality and able to communicate details on their use regarding identification, building access, printing, and dining.
  • Explain meal plan features and benefits.
  • Produce Eagle Cards (capture photos and signatures in Identity Management software), while protecting student/employee information.
  • Assign access or a meal plan to Eagle Cards (if applicable)
  • Assist with the operations of Camps and Conferences.
  • Assist the Auxiliary Services Coordinator with accurately maintaining stock and revolves merchandise utilizing available inventory eliminating excessive back stock and maintaining appropriate margins.
  • Assist the Auxiliary Services Coordinator with managing the store, both retail and company, inventory, including loss prevention through theft and breakage.
  • Supervises work study students which typically includes recommendations for hiring, termination, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
  • Represents the Life U Shop and the University at Life University sponsored events and sporting events as well as regional and national association meetings and trade shows as approved by their supervisor.
  • Assist the Auxiliary Services Coordinator with Housing move-ins and orientations.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by Auxiliary Services Coordinator.
  • Exhibit student centeredness in performance of all job duties.
  • Treat all others with respect; understands the impact of culture/background on the behavior of others; respects differences among the Life community and demonstrates inclusive behavior.
  • Work some weekends for university events.
  • Cover all vacation and/or personal time off for Auxiliary Services Coordinator.
  • Anticipates, listens to, understands, and responds to customer needs. Delivers work products and services to customers in a way that reflects positively upon the department and the University.
  • Motivates team to perform at their best.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Two (2) years of general management experience in a university or retail environment.
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with fashion trends, merchandise licensing, and brand management.
  • Excellent customer relation and service skills; ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as other store clientele, and various outside vendors and organizations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Broad base of retail merchandising knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
  • Must possess administrative, supervisory, and budget management skills; bookkeeping/accounting training or experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of design and creativity in relation to the work environment
