Long-term Substitute for 6th grade Humanities (English and History)

Job Summary:

Charleston Collegiate School is seeking a long-term substitute teacher for sixth-grade humanities to begin immediately for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. Successful candidates will be creative, energetic, and highly skilled teachers who are passionate about student-centered, collaborative, experiential learning. Candidates should also have a proven track record of success teaching English and history in grades 6-8. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching middle school students.

• Experience with experiential education and project-based learning, especially in developing and adapting curriculum for group projects with learning goals in mind.

• A willingness to participate in student-life activities e.g., advisory, club leadership, coaching, after-school programs
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject discipline, e.g., Education or mathematics.
• A minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience
