High Voltage Electrician
- $50 to $65 Hourly
- Full-Time
Pay : Pay based on Experience. Per diem and travel pay (minimum per union code Base Rate before OT $51/hr)
Location : Can live anywhere in the US with the Ability to work at various locations (Washington DC/ Louisiana) ALL TRAVEL EXPENSES PAID UPFRONT (hotel, travel and rental cars)
Duration : 6 weeks at a time, projects last 2-3 years at a time
Must Haves
- High Voltage experience 69 KV or higher
- 4 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, High Voltage Jointing Specialist, Project Manager, Petroleum Mechanic, or other acceptable related alternate occupation.
- High School diploma
- US citizen or work visa
- Ability to travel (drive or fly) - ALL EXPENSES PAID
- $50.00 - $60.00 an hour depending on experience,
- Per diem $50 a day for food + expenses paid - Hotel, travel, etc.
- Will be away from home 6 weeks at a time, 100% travel - Road Warrior.
- Requirement: 69KV or higher + underground cable splicing experience + splicer certification (IBEW)
Job Description:
- Work safely in energized manholes to take partial discharge measurements, inspect racking anodes, underground cable systems, link boxes, and perform necessary repairs.
- Interconnect and terminate high voltage XLPE (cross linked polyethylene) cables with voltages of 130kV to 500kV.
- Install accessory components that are comprised of parts that make up click-fit joint cable systems and cable termination systems, which include all bonding, clamping, fiber optics, and grounding.
Work or academic experience must have included:
1. Installing, repairing conductor splicing, and terminating high voltage and extra high voltage
accessory components to cables.
2. Providing technical support and assistance in the testing of cable systems according to
customer specifications.
3. Working in energized manholes to take partial discharge measurements, inspecting racking
anodes, underground cable systems, and link boxes; and performing necessary repairs.
4. Interconnecting and terminating high voltage XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) cables.
5. Installing accessory components that are comprised of parts that make up click-fit joint cable
systems and cable termination systems, which include all bonding, clamping, fiber optics, and
grounding.
6. Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
