CNC Machinist

Job Description

We are hiring to fill out our CNC engineering/Set up department. We are looking to expand our team with driven individuals willing to grow with our company.

6 years CNC machining experience and 2 years CNC Engineering/set-up experience required. Other mechanical experience a plus.

Duties:

• Set up a variety of CNC machines, both 4 axis mill and 3 axis lathes
• Provide a First Piece to Quality control for acceptance
• Produce layout sheets and operator prints from provided G-Code programs
• Read and understand layouts, job packets, programs and blueprints for parts being run.
• Perform daily maintenance of machines as required and keep the Forman informed of any machine
• Maintain a clean, safe work area
• Help guide critical jobs though the shop
• Work as a team member to aid all shifts and support personnel to operate to departmental standards including quality and productivity goals
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements: *Education/Certifications*

• High school, or equivalent
• Apprenticeship or other trade school an acceptable alternative

*Skills/Abilities/Competencies*

• Understanding of safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe set-ups, operations, or acts which might cause injury to self, others, or environment.
• Able to set up and produce a part with limited oversight
• Ability to read and understand G-Code
• Solid micrometer and other metrological equipment skills
• Working knowledge of AutoCad
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must have strong PC skills and ability to work with Microsoft products
