We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced QA Engineer to join our growing team! The QA Engineer will serve as a leader and technical resource in the Quality department for part inspection, measuring, managing supplier quality responsibilities, conducting experiments, and monitoring data trends. The QA Engineer will also conduct audits, perform root cause analyses, and drive quality/process improvement opportunities.

 

Key Responsibilities


  • PPAP/ISIR package owner:
    1. Collaborates with Engineering PM and Quality Technicians to complete domestic and foreign distribution PPAP packages for engineering approval (prior to submitting to customer).
    2. Understands APQP and can prepare and complete Part Submission Warrants (PSW), PFMEA, Control Plan, Material Certification, Dimensional inspection data, Gage R&R, and other PPAP elements per customer requirements.
    3. Understands part drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
    4. Understands inspection methods. Oversees the measurement of parts utilizing a variety of equipment, from a durometer gage to the vision system. Works with Quality Technician’s to complete dimensional data requirements and facilitates any additional testing as required.
    5. May work directly with customers to ensure their expectations are understood and met.
    6. Consults with the Project Manager, Engineering, and Quality Manager on any non-conformances.
    7. Promptly communicates inspection results, approvals, and customer feedback.
  • Oversee Quality Assurance Technicians, and their quality initiatives and interpret data they gather.
  • ISO Coordinator
  1. Leads, facilitates, and completes internal audits with support from internal auditors.
  2. Leads, facilitates, and completes third party registrar audits.
  3. Manage corrective actions, as needed.
  4. Strategize, plan, and implement continuous improvement initiatives for ISO QMS.
  5. Coordinate training of internal auditors.
  • Assist in Supplier Quality Engineering opportunities.
  • Lead/assist in cross functional teams for root cause analysis for corrective action.
  • Quality lab Vision System (2) owner; lead operator will mentor and provide guidance for quality technicians in general use, capabilities, and equipment maintenance.
  • Assists in RGAs, customer complaints, and Corrective Actions.
  • Oversee and initiate SPC opportunities as needed per customer requirements.
  • Establish, as needed, inspection and test methods for receiving inserts and manufacturing of product.
  • Serves as the QA representative in the New Products and New Product Review meetings.
  • Serve as the QA representative, and may lead, in cross functional continuous improvement projects.
  • Help train quality personnel and other stakeholders in customer quality expectations, inspection methods, proper gage use, and blueprint reading.
  • Helps audit that operators are following procedures and work instructions.
  • Assists in Customer Audits.
  • Support and back up Quality Manager and other Quality Assurance personnel as needed. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications


  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or other technical field with (3) years’ experience in Quality Assurance or an Associate degree in Quality with a minimum seven (7) years’ experience in manufacturing Quality Assurance.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001-2015, Internal and third-party (registrar) auditing.
  • Working knowledge of PPAP documentation, SPC, control plans, gage R&R studies, and other common manufacturing quality tools
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, determining appropriate inspection techniques, and using measuring equipment, including a vision system.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Desired Green or Black belt.
  • Desired Supervisory experience.
