A Day in the Life of an Optical Sales and Customer Service Representative: 

On any given day at our practice you can expect the following: 

  • Arriving 15 minutes before start time to be ready to go and prepare for the upcoming day in a store huddle. 

  • Working with and communicating with your teammates at your specified office, other locations, and employees that work remotely. 

  • Welcoming new customers and patients to our office in a friendly manner and being there to answer their questions. 

  • Preparing the patient for their appointment and ready to assist the Optometrist in facilitating patient care and being attentive to needs during the patient examination. 

  • Caring for patients in an empathetic and educational way to answer their questions about eye care and eye wear needs. 

  • Assist patients and customers in selecting eyewear frames with attention to detail and education of proper frame fit 

  • Recommend lenses and lens enhancements based on doctor prescribed recommendations, their preferences, and prescription needs. 

  • Conduct eyewear fittings and adjustments to ensure optimal comfort and functionality of eyewear. 

  • Process orders, handle payments, and manage inventory of eyewear products. 

  • Educate patients on proper eyecare routines, lens care, and maintenance. 

  • Finishing daily duties assigned and managing your planner to follow up on your orders. 

  • Inspecting eyewear for quality control and prescription accuracy. 

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring overall satisfaction.

  • You are not passionate about eyecare and do not value providing exceptional service to patients. 

  • You struggle with multitasking and handling a fast-paced work environment. 

  • You are not proactive in problem-solving and critical thinking. 

  • You are not reliable and frequently late. 

  • You get sidetracked and easily distracted and are unable to focus or stay on task on work related tasks.  

  • You are not flexible and you contribute to a negative team culture 

  • You are not willing to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion with excellence.

  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. 

  • Demonstrating proficiency in product knowledge, eyewear fittings, and customer service.

  • Consistently falling short of performance expectations and goals.
