Job Description
The MOBC youth development program for elementary and middle school students is designed to support the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. In addition to this support, students develop their interests and passion through the arts, recreation, and experiential learning opportunities in Nashville and beyond.

The Martha O’Bryan Center (MOBC) empowers children, youth, and adults in poverty, to transform their lives through work, education, employment, and fellowship. The Center cannot service the community alone, so we partner with organizations like AmeriCorps, to fulfill our mission.
AmeriCorps members serve 1700 hours over the course of 11 months with Martha O'Bryan Center, gaining hands-on experience working with families, youth, and community members. The crucial components of the MOBC—AmeriCorps years of service program allow you to build your community and professional skills, thereby propelling you towards the next steps in your career and life.

Hours: 9 am – 6 pm or 10 am – 7 pm (depending on site)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist K-8 Leadership Team in curriculum creation, organization, and implementation
Coordinate with Site Coordinator on student recruitment and engagement strategies
Build relationships with a small cohort of students
Provide hands-on academic assistance to students daily
Provide complementary homework help and foundational support daily
Help each student achieve success by encouraging students to reach individual goals
Provide enrichment activities for students based on member’s individual gifts and talents
Plan and execute quarterly parent meetings
Sustain effective partnerships with community organizations
Assist Site Coordinators in preparation for upcoming week’s programming
Create enrichment lesson plans for activities
Utilize programming information to check attendance and communicate with parents
Inventory and organize program materials
Assist with childcare during parent events
Employ databases to assist programming and grant reporting (NAZA, LEAPS, 21st CCLC, ELAP, SalesForce)
