We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Machinist Foreman to join our newly formed leadership team. As a key leader, you'll be instrumental in building and shaping our machining operations from the ground up and ensuring we meet the rigorous standards of AS9100 certification. Your expertise will be vital in optimizing processes through your input on fixture design and tool selection. You'll not only excel at operating and programming CNC machines, but also play a crucial role in recruiting, training, and mentoring the future stars of our machining team.

Responsibilities:

Partner with leadership to define and implement best practices for CNC machining within the company's evolving structure, adhering to AS9100 quality standards.

 

o Participate in the selection and procurement of CNC machines, tooling, and software. Provide valuable input on fixture design and tool selection to optimize efficiency and quality.

o Actively recruit, interview, and hire talented CNC machinists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team focused on quality.

o Develop and deliver training programs to onboard and upskill new team members on CNC operation, AS9100 quality procedures, and fixture design considerations.

o Lead by example, demonstrating safe and efficient operation of vertical and horizontal machining centers, and CNC lathes with live tooling, in accordance with AS9100 guidelines.

o Independently set up, operate, and program CNC machines, optimizing processes for efficiency, quality, and repeatability as required by AS9100. Utilize your knowledge of fixture design and tool selection to achieve optimal results.

o Edit existing CNC programs to continuously improve production speed, precision, and adherence to AS9100 specifications.

o Conduct thorough inspections of machined parts, ensuring they meet all dimensional, quality specifications, and AS9100 conformance.

o Troubleshoot and resolve CNC machine malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions following AS9100 protocols.

o Maintain accurate and up-to-date production documentation in compliance with AS9100 standards.

o Implement and enforce all safety protocols within the machine shop, upholding AS9100 safety requirements.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 7 years of experience as a CNC machinist, with a proven track record of success in a production environment, preferably within an AS9100 certified company.

Demonstrated experience in setting up, operating, and programming vertical and horizontal machining centers, and CNC lathes with live tooling.

Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, G-code programming, machining processes, AS9100 quality standards, and fixture design principles.

Experience and knowledge in selecting appropriate tooling for various machining operations.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, AS9100 documentation, and fixture design schematics.

Strong commitment to safety, quality, and adherence to all safety regulations and AS9100 requirements.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with a passion for mentoring and team development.
