Dental Assistant
- $15 to $20 Hourly
- Full-Time
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The dental assistant performs many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
• Greet patients and bring patients back to the treatment room
• Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
• Taking and developing dental radiographs, film and or digital
• Updating patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse
• Serving as an infection control officer
• Preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
• Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
• Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
• Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts, digital and traditional impression material
• Helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery
• Breakdown and sterilizing operatories between patients
• Scheduling patients next appointment where applicable
• Charting for the dentist and the hygienists where applicable
• Cleaning the offices as instructed
