Corporate Counsel

ModSquad provides on-demand customer experience services via remote teams around the world, and we are looking for a talented Corporate Counsel to drive our legal matters in our operations departments.  Working on a legal team led by the COO | General Counsel, the Corporate Counsel will focus on negotiating complex sales and partnership agreements and providing legal support for our other departments.  This role is a great opportunity for an attorney who is enthusiastic, collaborative, has good judgment and is able to navigate a fast-paced online work environment. ModSquad has operations in Austin, Northern California, Northern Ireland, San José (Costa Rica), and Manila, but most people in the company work remotely.  This position is a work-from-home job for a U.S.-based lawyer.

What you'll do:

• • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements and supporting documentation for our sales and accounting teams
  • Provide assistance (policies, procedures and techniques) to our professionals in support of sales and partnership negotiations
  • Support our client services teams with guidance on compliance with our sales contracts and other legal matters
  • Collaborate with the technology and marketing departments, especially on legal issues involving Cubeless®, the security platform powering ModSquad’s remote workforce 
  • Assist our accounting team as needed with regard to invoicing and receivables
  • Analyze and advise on legal risk in operations with creativity and attention to detail

What You Bring to the Table:

• • Five or more years of legal experience, with a solid background in sales, financial and/or technology support a plus, especially with e-commerce, gaming, tech or outsourcing companies
  • J.D. degree and member of good standing of a state bar
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Stellar verbal, written and online communication skills
  • Excellent judgment, attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
  • Able to work well remotely and quickly shift from one task to the other
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Sheets and Slack
  • A sense of humor and disdain for the passive voice
