Objective and Purpose:

As the Director of Tax, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's tax strategy, compliance, and planning. This role requires an experienced tax professional with a strong understanding of tax laws, regulations, and best practices. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, the Director of Tax will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and executive leadership, to provide guidance on tax-related matters and support the company's overall financial goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of all required tax returns, including federal, state, and local income tax returns, sales and use tax returns, and other regulatory filings.
  • Manage the tax planning process, including identifying opportunities for tax savings, conducting tax research, and providing recommendations to optimize the company's tax position.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess the potential impact on the company's tax strategy and operations.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on tax-related matters, including financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, and business expansion initiatives.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and government agencies as needed to address tax-related issues and inquiries.
  • Lead and develop a team of tax professionals, providing coaching, mentoring, and training to support their professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and executive leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives that align with the company's overall financial objectives.
  • Prepare and present tax-related reports and presentations to senior management and the board of directors as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures related to tax matters and support the company's overall risk management efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in tax compliance and planning, with a focus on corporate taxation.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, including knowledge of international tax principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and provide practical recommendations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Proven leadership ability, with experience managing and developing a team of tax professionals.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience in NetSuite, Bill.com, Concur platforms.
  • Experience in multi-site environments.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant status highly desired.
  • Experience in public accounting or a corporate tax department.

Work Conditions:

  • Candidate must be able to work in office 4 days a week.
  • Candidate must be able to travel as required for business needs.
  • Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed.
  • Candidate must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Salary: $150,000 to $160,000 / annum

Position Pay Range
$150,000—$160,000 USD
