Position Purpose:

The Home Visitation Manager will implement services for child abuse and prevention. Under the direction of the Health and Human Services Director, the Home Visitation Manager will plan, organize, develop, and implement public awareness campaigns, education, and training efforts relating to child abuse prevention and other issues related to children; and lead, organize, coordinate, and oversee direct services for families focusing on the prevention of family violence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leadership position that maintains relationships related to prevention with community providers and intergovernmental partners, such Center on Child Abuse and Neglect (CCAN) and Department of Justice (DOJ-VAWA/VOCA).
  • Coordinate child abuse prevention awareness, education, and training efforts between the Peoria Tribe, community-based organizations, county, and other governmental agencies.
  • Prepare, plan and coordinate child abuse prevention parenting meetings and associated logistics; arrange guest speakers/subject matter experts as needed, select training locations, and coordinate Tribal and community participation and attendance.
  • In conjunction with the Peoria Tribe Culture Department, ensure equal implementation of traditional cultural practices integrated within the child abuse prevention meetings, creating a cohesive dynamic of child abuse prevention through a strengthening of cultural traditions.
  • Ensure program evaluation by partnering with a third-party evaluator, prepare and disseminate information obtained through the evaluators and make program adjustments accordingly.
  • Ensure reporting of program requirements and funds is completed following all time requirements.


Requirements

Education and Experience:

• A bachelor's degree in social work or related field.

• Three years of leadership experience preferred.

• One year experience working within the family services sector.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience in preparing and managing in-person and virtual training modalities and meetings

• Ability working some evenings throughout each month.

• Knowledge of Brazelton Touchpoints, certified training preferred.

• Outstanding organizational abilities and must be able to prioritize.

• Productive and effective time management, flexibility in responding to a variety of work tasks.

• Ability to support multiple staff, working in different locations in an effective way.

• Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

• Ability to read, interpret and understand federal documents.

• Proven management and leadership skills.

• Ability to set and maintain professional boundaries with families.

• Proficiency with computers and programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet.

Certifications:

• Valid Driver's License and Insurance.

Conditions of Employment:

• Must pass background investigations for suitability of character identified in accordance with

the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, and Child Care and Development Fund, 45 C.F.R. § 98.43(a)(2)

Work Requirements:

Position involves prolonged sitting, standing, stooping, or bending, lifting, or carrying up to 30 pounds on a daily basis. Work is generally performed in an office environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
