Hardware Engineering Intern

Alarm.com, a rapidly expanding, entrepreneurial technology company, is seeking an ambitious, talented Hardware Device Engineer Interns. Very few companies innovate and develop across such a broad range of technologies as Alarm.com. The Hardware Device Engineer intern will be working on various video camera products, such as residential video cameras and doorbell video cameras.

The internship will be in person, located in our Escondido, California office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Device Engineering Intern will be assisting with and learning about:

• Building and projecting plans for new product evaluations
• Hardware design - schematic design, PCB layout and design verification
• Design for high volume manufacturing
• Working with Mechanical design engineers to meet product requirements
• Working with firmware engineers to ensure efficient hardware verification and board bring up
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering
• Academic knowledge or previous internship experience in electrical hardware engineering
• Knowledge or experience in schematic capture, layout design, and hardware bring up
• Knowledge or experience in circuit design, simulation, and testing
• Basic RF knowledge
• Basic Python knowledge
• Self-starter, analytical, tenacious problem solver
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Rigorous attention to detail with focus on robustness, scalability, and quality of products
• Passion for working with technology and excitement for creating high quality consumer technology product
