Cost Accountant

Hybrid – Littleton, CO

$70K-$90K+ Equity + Benefits

*** You must reside in the Denver/Littleton area ***

Play a critical role in the financial management of our client’s organization by analyzing costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and providing accurate financial information to support strategic decision-making. You will monitor, analyze, and report on the various costs associated with the operations, ensuring that financial resources are used efficiently and effectively. Work directly with upper management as a key member in the team analyzing item level profitability.

Requirements

3+ years of finance and accounting (or financial analysis) experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or finance

US GAAP knowledge

Sufficient enterprise systems knowledge required, including ERP, Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence, Ecommerce

Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

Manage inventory costing and product cost of sales

Run costing and inventory reports from GL systems and other sources

Reconcile sub ledger systems to GL and record journal entries as appropriate

Analyze inventory, cost of sales and inventory variance GL accounts for accuracy and reasonableness

Reconcile vendor rebate accruals, freight costs and various other operational accounts

Analyze significant product cost changes and revisions

Assist in the budgeting process

Provide financial analysis and insights into critical value drivers of the business

Work closely with Controller and key stakeholders (primarily Operations and Supply Chain) to optimize internal controls, accounting processes, automation, and reporting

Assist the Controller in analyzing operational KPI’s across the organization

Analyze and explore opportunities to reduce cost and drive efficiencies
