Join us as a Scientist III, where you’ll put your love of science to work performing and overseeing projects within the microbiology department of our environmental testing laboratory.

What you’ll do

• Analyze water samples using standard microbiology procedures to test for Legionella and other waterborne pathogens.
• Clean, maintain and calibrate equipment
• Maintain detailed and organized documentation on all laboratory work
• Validate and approve lab results
• Assist with sample processing, filter prep, bottle labeling, and other tasks as needed

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• 3-5 years microbiology culture exam (plate reading) experience
• Bacterial identification via latex agglutination, MALDI-ToF mass spectrometry, and Direct Fluorescent Antibody Staining a plus
• Ability to perform work in a lab or office setting, remain standing for long periods while conducting tests, work around strong smells, and wear personal protective equipment while handling samples (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses and gloves; all PPE provided by Pace®).
