Job Summary: Under direct supervision, uses basic knowledge and skills obtained through education to obtain on-the-job training experience in the areas of Health Promotion and Obesity Prevention, Substance Misuse Prevention, Education & Workforce Development, or Behavioral Health. Interns will have the opportunity to actively participate in program deliverables including direct education and/or community-based projects that address policy, system or environmental changes, and/or public health.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting with facilitation of program deliverables.
- Providing service to the following age populations: children, adolescents, adults, and senior citizens in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
- Maintaining professional relationships with community partners to ensure the successful delivery of programming.
- Conduct research and compile data for reports and presentations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of programs and initiatives.
- Support outreach efforts to raise awareness about public health issues in the community.
- Participate in community events and health fairs to promote education and services.
- Collaborate with team members to develop educational materials and resources for various audiences.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, organizing files, and managing databases.
- Assist with program evaluation and data analysis to assess the effectiveness of interventions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Cultural competency
Skill in:
- Public speaking
- Facilitation and/or classroom training experience (preferred)
- Data entry (preferred)
- Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including Microsoft Office and Teams
Ability to:
• Travel to multiple sites to provide services
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
- Minimum Degree Required: None.
- Required Disciplines:
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Health Education, Community Health or a related field

Working Conditions:
Hours: Normal business hours. Ability to adjust hours of work based on the community needs, including some evening and weekends.
Travel Required: Local travel only
Working Environment: Climate controlled office environment during normal business hours.
