Position Overview: 

As a Veterinary Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the relationships between people and animals. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of veterinary social work, including grief and bereavement support, compassion fatigue management, conflict resolution, and facilitating animal assisted interventions.

Key Responsibilities: 

Animal Related Grief and Bereavement: 

•       Provide compassionate support to pet owners as they navigate the loss of a beloved animal.
•       Assist in discussing treatment options and evaluating the quality of life for pets.
•       Offer emotional support before, during, and after euthanasia procedures.
•       Help pet owners communicate about the loss with children.
•       Connect individuals with resources such as pet loss support groups.

Compassion Fatigue and Conflict Management: 

•       Offer stress management techniques and emotional support to veterinary professionals experiencing compassion fatigue.
•       Mediate conflicts between pet owners, veterinary staff, and other parties involved in animal care.

 Qualifications: 

•    Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
•    Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or eligibility for licensure.
•    Experience in grief counseling, trauma informed care, and conflict resolution preferred.
•    Knowledge of veterinary medicine and animal behavior is advantageous.
•    Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
•    Compassion, empathy, and a genuine passion for improving the well  being of both animals and humans.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $28.00 - $35.00/hour.
