Job Description

Counseling Center of Grayslake is currently seeking a passionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor/Therapist to join our dynamic team. If you're committed to improving your skills, making a positive impact in people's lives and advancing your career in a collaborative setting, we would love to hear from you!

Counseling Center of Grayslake is the local leading mental health therapy practice. We are dedicated to the professional development of our therapists through ongoing, hands-on learning opportunities. We specialize in REBT therapy, the original form of Cognitive Behavior Therapy. This approach not only helps our clients "feel better" but also to "get better." Additionally, we strive to incorporate the "Common Factors" of successful therapy. Namely, we focus on the therapeutic alliance, strong client rapport, unconditional positive regard, and client-determined therapy goals. Through deliberate practice, we improve our skills, and we attend two group supervisions and one individual supervision session every week. If this intentional approach to therapy resonates with you, we want you on our team and we are confident you will love working here as much as we do.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 25 individual, couple, or group therapy sessions per week.
  • Use REBT therapy model, combined with other second- and third-wave models (don't worry, we will train you!) such as: ACT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, solution-focused therapy, EMDR and many more.
  • Employ FIT (Feedback Informed Treatment) techniques to optimize clients' therapy outcomes (training on these instruments is provided to all staff).
  • Case management and learning activities including: clinical trainings, self-study, individual and group supervision, community outreach, and collaboration with outside treatment professionals.
  • Accurate and timely clinical documentation including: biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or higher in counseling, psychology, or social work
  • “Lifelong Learner” approach
  • Ability to learn from mistakes and challenge oneself to try new approaches
  • Ability to build rapport/alliance with diverse clients
  • Skilled in self-care to prevent clinician “burn out” while also working diligently for clients and colleagues
  • Previous experience (employment OR internship) in mental health counseling/therapy preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Self-disciplined and motivated; good at prioritizing and managing one's time
  • Team player with passion for helping clients AND colleagues

We Offer:

  • **Competitive Salary from Day One**. This distinguishes us from other private practices. Unlike models based on percentage/commission splits, we make sure our therapists receive their full salary compensation and health benefits as soon as they start at CCG (no "building caseloads" before getting paid). We can do this because we operate as an organization, rather than a collection of individual workers. This approach ensures that our therapists feel secure and valued, as part of a cohesive team, from the moment they join CCG.
  • **Unparalleled Admin Support** Fully (remote) admin support team that handles ALL client interactions around financials (insurance, collecting copays/coinsurance, etc). They also field all calls from our clients to cancel, schedule, and reschedule appointments, and they pass along vital messages to therapists. Our therapists do not give their personal phone numbers to clients because our live-answer, always-there customer service handles all our calls. Our clinical team LOVES and APPRECIATES the commitment and care our support staff provide to staff and clients alike. This frees our therapists to focus on what they do best - therapy!
  • **Team of Peers and Mentors**. We are a group of colleagues who work side-by-side to help each other achieve our personal and professional goals.
  • **Employee Lounge** stocked with soft drinks, snacks, and a ping pong table. There is always someone up for a game between sessions.
  • **Peloton treadmills** two treadmills, side by side. Do some walk-and-talk therapy with clients, have a walking meeting with a colleague, or workout on your own to achieve your fitness goals. All staff have access to their own free Peloton mobile app.
  • Ongoing, one-on-one and group trainings and workshops (internal and external)
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their dependents
  • Student loan repayment matching up to $2k per year
  • 401k retirement plan with 4% match (after one year of employment)
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick time.
