Inventory Control Coordinator - Supply Chain Distribution & Logistics – Demand Planning

Option 1 Staffing is currently recruiting for a Inventory Control Coordinator for a contract to hire position with a very busy supply chain department. You will assist with Build Activities, PAR Management, and/or Unit Optimizations as required. The Demand Planning team flexes across each of these areas of responsibility to support Logistics Operations, Sourcing Conversions, and improving supply reliability for clinical end users. Build involves planning, organizing, and eventually leading PAR Build activities within Supply Chain across the enterprise. PAR Management involves the use of Lawson, Peoplsoft, and excel to make changes in live Supply Locations based on internal or clinical requests to make adds, removals, or adjustments to those locations. Optimizations are extended periods of time in live units making adjustments and re-organizing supply areas, using historical data, to improve supply reliability and the clinical end user experience. Working cross-functionally between Logstics, Sourcing, Data Management, and Clinical Groups to gather needed information for build activities.
Job Duties
- Assistance with PAR Builds, Conversions, and Demand Planning across all four inpatient hospitals on campus of medical supplies, equipment and materials
- Utilize Lawson and Peoplesoft ERPs, along with generating reports, to assist in creating needed detail for Build or Optimization related work such as recommended PAR levels based off a unit’s order history
- Lead projects for Builds of new departments, or conversions of departments to Kanban
- Work within project timelines and use high amount of attention to detail in work
- Understand and be able to jump in at any stage of Build activity – including but not limited to:
Pre and Post Kickoff Activities like reviewing space of unit, determining hardware requirements, and facilities needs
Label printing, label software o Product bin Sizing o Cart Construction
Mock Review Process
- Maintain organized notes, update project tracker for builds, and take accurate notes during the course of their work
- Willingness to build skill sets into fully functional ‘leads’ of projects
- Ensures a healthy work environment
- Assist in managing inventory of build related supplies to ensure the team has the needed hardware at the right time
- Assist staff in Warehouse orders to San Carlos, and potentially assist staff in building new carts and facilitating deliveries of supplies
- Ensures database validity and integrity for the system and use of inventory management guidelines and practices
- Utilize Lean and 5S to manage Build Space effectively to reduce clutter, ensure area kept organized
- Use of excel
Minimum Qualifications
Education
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Experience
• Two (2) years of progressively responsible roles within Supply Chain Distribution & Logistics in a hospital environment (academic medical center preferred) License/Certifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel recommended
• Strong collaborative work style. • Ability to work professionally with confidential, prosperity data and information.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels, both internal and external.
• Knowledge of Kanban inventory management system and effective optimization of an asset inventory.
• Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders such as executives, leadership and physician leadership.
• Ability to problem solve space constraint issues independently
• Knowledge of applicable occupational and safety standards.
• Ability to prioritize multiple, competing tasks based on changing business needs and complete work within deadlines.
