Inpatient Nurse Tech - Full-Time - 7a - 7p

OSH, a physician-owned hospital, is looking for a full-time Inpatient Nurse Tech to work, 7a-7p. The average length of stay for a patient on this unit is 1-3 days. This position comes with full-time benefits and is eligible for our rewarding discretionary quarterly bonuses! The only weekend requirement is 1 8-hour shift a month! Job Mission: The Nurse Technician holds a safety sensitive position and is a competent paraprofessional which assists the registered nurses by assuming responsibility and accountability for direct and indirect patient care. He/she may assist with activities, personal care, comfort measures, maintenance of a safe and clean environment, and certain test/procedures done to a specific patient population (dependent on area) under the direction and supervision of an RN. May be asked to assist in covering department secretary duties. Supports the nursing and medical staff in an effort to provide optimum patient outcomes.

Requires: High school graduate or equivalent. Maintains current competency as a Nurse Technician as outlined in the department’s competency program. Basic Life Support certification prior to start date.

Occupational Experience: Zero to six months prior to experience as a Nurse Aide in a healthcare environment, or completion of a Nurse Aide training program preferred.

Specialty Knowledge Skills: Cognitive, technical and interpersonal skills required to deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of a RN. Cooperation and strong “team” focus required. Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current caregiver practices, which are unit/age specific.
