Summary
- Designing and implementing curricula that cater to the basic and educational needs of toddlers.
- Training, supervising, and mentoring teachers to ensure that they perform well.
- Adhering to appropriate legal and educational guidelines to maintain toddlers' well-being.
- Conducting child assessments to gauge students' progress.
- Documenting and reporting on students' process.
- Establishing relationships with each family to ensure that their toddler's needs are met.
- Leading staff and parent meetings.
- Organizing and engaging in occasional team-building activities.
Duties
- Interacts with children through instructional methods to include play, music, arts and crafts, reading, writing, computer, and physical activities.
- Teaches children appropriate toddler curriculum including but not limited to the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, hand washing and potty training.
- Develops and maintains a positive and confidential relationship with the parents of everychild, including thorough communication about the program and each child’s progress
- Changes toddler’s diapers orclothes as needed, adhering to appropriate diapering procedures at all times to include assuring the cleanliness of work areas and proper disposal of diapers.
- Prepare and execute nap time routine to include creating a relaxing environment for the toddlers.
- Maintains written documentation of each child's daily activities to include but not limited to diapering, feeding and sleeping habits, and forwards reports to parents/guardians.
Requirements
Lead Toddler Teacher Requirements:
- CDA OR equivalent experience
- Valid state license or equivalent.
- Proven experience planning and developing curricula for toddlers.
- Prior experience teaching toddlers.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Able to attend meetings during evenings, as needed.
- A keen interest in early childhood education.
