Job Description
Talladega College is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach Biology courses in the Biology program. This is a tenure-track position reporting to the Department Chair and is slated to begin in fall 2024.
Responsibilities
- Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and research.
- Teaching responsibilities to include innovative and engaging use of technology in the classroom.
- Establish a competitive and productive research program that provides opportunities and mentoring for undergraduate research.
- Compete for extramural grant support.
- Assist students in identifying and applying for research internships, fellowships and acceptance to graduate and professional schools.
- Develop research collaborations with colleagues at Talladega College and other institutions.
- Collaborate with teaching faculty to incorporate research in courses.
- Serve on division and college committees.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ph.D. in Biology or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Three years’ experience in higher education.
- A collaborative and inclusive approach to working with colleagues and students, promoting diversity and equity.
- The ideal candidate will have excellent teaching skills, good interpersonal skills, effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to function collegially as a member of the faculty.
