We are seeking a qualified and experienced speech pathologist to join our company. In this position, you will play a key role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a broad range of communication and swallowing disorders in patients. You will be expected to be thorough and communicative with your patients and staff.

Speech Pathologist Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication disorders
  • Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty
  • Determines the extent of communication problems by giving standardized tests or basic reading and vocalizing tasks
  • Identifies treatment options
  • Creates and carries out individualized treatment plans
  • Works with patients to increase their ability to read and write
  • Teaches alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with limited or no speech capability
  • Teaches patients how to make sounds and improve their voices
  • Works with patients to develop and strengthen the muscles used to swallow
  • Counsels families and patients on how to cope with communication disorders
  • Works with people who have inappropriate pitch or tone
  • Helps with speech cadence and fluency
  • Keeps us with administrative tasks, such as patient records

Speech Pathologist Requirements and Qualifications

  • Possesses a master's degree
  • Has completed undergrad and focused on specific speech disorders, alternative communication methods, and swallowing disorders
  • Completed supervised clinical work
  • Must be licensed in all jurisdictions

Service is delivered in our dedicated clinic space. Our areas of specialty include positioning, equipment procurement, augmentative communication device procurement, aquatic therapy in the summer months, feeding therapy, sensory integration, and 1 to 1 therapy sessions as part of our delivery of service. Our Mission is to provide therapy services to our clients ages birth to 21, while assisting families in coping and adapting to disabilities. We have an open door policy and parents are welcome to observe and participate at the therapist’s discretion. We are dedicated to providing specialized therapy services to foster and develop the full potential of the special needs children we are privileged to serve.
