Speech Language Pathologist

Gulfsouth Autism Center is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist or Clinical Fellow to work with the children and families we support. Our organization helps preschool-aged autistic children develop social-communication, articulation, feeding, sensory-emotional regulation, and self-advocacy skills to better participate and engage in the world around them.

Job Description:

• Plan and provide play-based treatment in both group and individual settings
• Administer evaluations (Speech-Language, Feeding, AAC) and develop treatment plans
• Complete necessary documentation: daily SOAP notes, Progress Notes, Yearly Evaluations
• Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers
• Work collaboratively with other professionals (Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, BCBAs, RLTs)
• Provide trainings to parents and other professionals as needed
• Provide supervision and mentorship to SLPAs and students as needed (for those meeting ASHA supervision requirements)

Requirements:

• Master's degree in speech-language pathology
• Valid Louisiana state Licensure (or provisional licensure) in speech-language pathology

Preferred:

• Valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
• Prior experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders
• Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) or willingness to complete training
• Experience with pediatric feeding disorders or willingness to complete training
