Yard Attendant

Responsibilities:

1. Yard Organization: Maintain a well-organized and efficient yard layout to ensure smooth traffic flow of trucks and trailers.

2. Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of yard equipment, including trucks, trailers, and other machinery.

3. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and procedures within the yard, ensuring a secure working environment for all personnel.

4. Inventory Management: Keep track of inventory levels for trucking equipment and supplies, replenishing as necessary.

5. Communication: Maintain effective communication with drivers, dispatchers, and other yard personnel to facilitate smooth operations.

6. Reading Log Books: Regularly review and analyze log books to ensure compliance with driving regulations and to monitor driver hours to prevent violations.

7. Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of yard activities, including records of arrivals, departures, equipment maintenance, and log book reviews.

8. Training and Supervision: Train and supervise yard staff, ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures.

9. Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise in the yard operations.

Qualifications:

• No experience necessary. Will train.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
