Position Summary:

To ensure that technologists’ quality of work meets the standards required for proper radiologic diagnosis; oversee training and development of technologists to achieve consistent excellence; to maintain accurate, timely quality control processes and utilize data to improve performance. Supports radiologists, managers and directors by providing performance data for staff.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs duties of MRI Technologist.
  • Maintains workflow efficiencies throughout the MRI departments to expedite flow of patients. Assists with assigning and delegating work within the MRI offices.
  • Assists managers in regards to MRI Technologist schedules, ensuring all shifts are covered.
  • Responsible for ACR and all associated accreditation regarding MRI.
  • Responsible for Clinical Research program with regard to MRI.
  • Responsible for training, developing, monitoring and evaluating of staff within MRI. Training may include holding in-service training for staff after hours as well as training in other organizations partnered with Advanced Radiology.
  • Assisting in various as necessary to ensure all shifts are covered.
  • Assists staff in the interpretation of scripts/orders to ensure exams are completed within the framework of appropriate protocols and accepted policies.
  • Oversees and assists as needed with MRI Safety List in Epic.
  • Leads to ensure optimal patient care. Assures that services provided are in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Works with managers to ensure equipment is maintained and repairs are attended to promptly.
  • Assists directors/managers with analyzing and creating improvement processes for optimal department efficiencies.
  • Works to ensure staff are compliant regarding MRI safety as well as policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of all safety guidelines and procedures required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate commitment to excellence in patient care and exceptional customer service.
  • Superior knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI technology.
  • Demonstrate commitment to excellence in patient care and exceptional customer service.
  • Extensive computer background with strong application understanding, especially RIS/PACS software knowledge.
  • Strong desire to learn and eager to take on new responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, highly professional environment.

Educational Requirements:

  • College degree preferred
  • ARRT (RT)(MR) and CT State License required
  • 5+ years clinical experience
  • 2 years or more of leadership experience in a health care setting preferred
