Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Compliance Technician to work for a well-established Construction and Petroleum service company for the Chicago area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in various environmental projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and conducting fieldwork.

Starting Pay: $23.00 to $27.00/hr (depending on experience)

Primary Responsibilities:

Conduct environmental compliance testing at gas stations, refineries, pipelines etc.
Comply with safety guidelines at all job sites
Clean up job site
Tactfully deal with customers while at job sites.

Desired Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent is required
2-3 years of experience
Testing tanks and lines
Performing monthly and annual inspections
Troubleshooting skills for water entry
Veeder-Root certified
Cathodic Protection (CP) credentials
OSHA 40
Confined Space
Military background is a plus
Ability to lift 80+ pounds
Clean driving record
Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility with working hours depending on the operational needs of the company
Mechanically inclined preferred.
