Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and motivated individual for the role of a Machine Operator in the Metro Detroit area. This role involves operating and maintaining machinery used in the feeding and orientation of parts for further processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate feeder bowl machinery to ensure the efficient feeding and orientation of parts according to production requirements.
- Monitor machine operations, including feeding rates, part orientation, and machine performance, to maintain optimal efficiency and quality standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks on feeder bowl equipment to ensure proper functioning and prevent downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues as they arise during production, escalating more complex issues to maintenance staff as needed.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Maintain accurate production records, including part counts, downtime logs, and quality inspection data.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and identify areas for process improvement.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including removing debris and waste materials to prevent contamination or safety hazards.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in machine operation or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a machine operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably with experience operating feeder bowl machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to perform routine maintenance tasks and identify mechanical issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions and quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and production tracking.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and lift/move heavy materials as needed.
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
