Summary/objective
A fabricator/welder must possess the skills to read blueprints and follow proper design dimensions. Maintaining deadlines and proper work quality expected by the company as well as adapting to different situations. The welder position also includes maintaining the necessary equipment while maintaining a safe and orderly work environment as well. Must be able to pass a welding test.
Essential functions

- Interpret dimensional drawings produced by company engineers to plan fabrication layouts
- Weld fabricated parts to acceptable quality
- Clean and prep product for paint
- Join, fabricate, and assemble metal structures using both MIG and TIG welding techniques as requires
- Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
- Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines that perform such work
- Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature
- Meet deadlines
- Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes
- Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness and adherence to spec standards for good quality and fit
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment

Work environment
Must be able to work in an open environment.
Physical demands
Able to lift up to 75 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
Required education and experience
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred Education and experience
- At least 2 years of fabrication and/or print reading experience
- Trade school or higher education
- Welding certification
- Prior experience using Flux, Mig arch, Cutting torches, and welding machinery
