Job Description

Job Summary:
As a Carpenter specializing in millwork at Mahogany, you will be responsible for creating and installing custom woodwork and trim. You will play a key role in enhancing the aesthetic and value of our construction projects, working closely with design and construction teams to ensure the highest quality of craftsmanship in all millwork components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate material requirements.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.
  • Create and install custom cabinets, trim, doors, stairs, and other detailed millwork in accordance with project specifications.
  • Operate a variety of hand tools and power tools with precision and safety.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure millwork components are integrated seamlessly into construction projects.
  • Inspect and repair damaged millwork, performing necessary adjustments or replacements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring all millwork meets or exceeds client expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a carpenter, specifically with expertise in millwork and fine woodworking.
  • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
  • Excellent understanding of carpentry materials and the use of all relevant tools and machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail with a creative flair for custom design.
  • Good physical condition and endurance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • Valid license/certification in carpentry or related field is a plus.
