Cost Accountant

FleetGenius is a paperless company, and all work actions are recorded electronically. FleetGenius Lenoir is the metal fabrication facility that manufactures waste Units. 

 Job Position: Cost Accountant 
 
Job Type: Full Time 
 
Pay: WEEKLY PAY 
 
Payrate: $70,000 to $80,000 D.O.E 

Cost Accounting Job Description: 
The cost accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining the cost accounting system to determine the cost of producing the Companies products and services.  This includes analyzing variances in production costs to identify opportunities for improvement and the reduction of waste in the manufacturing process. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who can serve as a Cost Account. A successful candidate will exhibit a commitment to excellence and integrity by striving to perform all tasks with utmost accuracy and efficiency, maintaining a positive attitude, and demonstrating a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accuracy in all financial documents. 
 
Primary Responsibilities & Duties: 

• Take the leading role in implementing and then maintaining the cost accounting system within the Companies new ERP system (NetSuite’s) 
• Work with Engineering on the development of accurate Bills of Materials (BOM’s) and Routers. 
• Investigate cost and budget variances and produce reports to inform management including identification of opportunities for improvement and elimination of waste. 
• Establish labor and overhead rates in line with operating budgets. 
• Develop and record required journal entries related to inventory management. 
• All other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: 

• Minimum of 4 years of experience working with cost accounting systems utilizing Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and Routers. 
• Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) 
• Pasion for numbers and competence in analyzing data using statistics and various cost analysis techniques. 
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel 
• Good communication skills & the ability to collaborate with staff members. 

Education and Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance 
• Certification as Cost Management Accountant (CMA) a plus.
