Logistics Specialist

Summary

The Logistics Specialist administers the complete logistics process by scheduling and coordinating all shipments upon request while striving to optimize all transportation costs. The candidate will also be responsible for prioritizing tasks to meet expected shipping dates for OEM projects, Technical Service and Workshops.

What you'll do

• Schedule, receive purchase orders in SAP/GSS, create shipping documents and track all shipments through delivery

• Post goods issue in SAP to trigger invoices to customers

• Handle all import and export related matters

• Ensure materials and goods are delivered to sites/vendors in a timely manner as per clients’ and/or internal criteria

• Assess and recommend ideal shipping methods, routing or carriers to meet necessary parameters, specifications and costs

• Communicates regularly with internal customers and logistics providers. This includes working closely with SMS group’s Buyers, Engineers, Project Managers, Site Managers and suppliers

• Addresses issues and actively participates in the resolution

• Maintains documentation and continually monitors carrier performance

• Develops logistics plans in cooperation with Project Management and Service Plant Managers

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field

• Preferred 5+ years of logistics experience including shipping, working with carriers and freight forwarders, import and export procedures

• Able to manage time effectively

• Excellent oral and written language skills

• Familiarity with GSS or SAP Pro4 business system is preferred

• Working knowledge of standard computer software, including Word, Excel and Outlook
