Job Description

The Retail Manager position connects with current students, families, MPCS faculty, and outside vendors daily. This person, the Patriot Shop, and South Hall Lobby are often the first impression for many new and/or prospective families and this person must be outgoing, friendly, and provide an outstanding customer service experience at all times. As the Retail Manager, they are responsible for creating a welcoming shopping experience for our families and community. They keep current with trends to design attractive apparel and accessories to increase brand awareness, sales, and marketing efforts. This position works with the Principals in each division to coordinate uniform guidelines, serves as the liaison between the school and uniform vendors, and provides uniform staples in the retail store.

Responsibilities:

Retail Manager

  • Oversees sales of the Patriot Shop by managing all controllable costs with a view to maintain profitability
  • Manages daily store duties by being present during store hours, delivers excellent customer service, manages the e-commerce site, fulfills orders and tracks inventory and sales
  • Greets and receives customers, delivery personnel, parents, tours, etc. in the South Hall lobby in a welcoming manner
  • Implements purchasing plans and continues to cultivate relationships with vendors
  • Manages consignment vendors
  • Plans, designs, receives, tags, and manages all inventory
  • Works across other school divisions to help with branding, gift cards, sourcing products, and other various tasks
  • Manages budgets and invoice processing
  • Seeks ways to promote the store, product lines, and develop promotion schedules
  • Partners with Communications Department for school wide announcements of all special events regarding the school store
  • Sets up the Patriot “Pop-Up” Shop at requested school-wide events, games, and fundraisers, including all home football games
  • Ensures that the Patriot Shop and South Hall Lobby remains clean, well-stocked and presentable at all times
  • Has strong knowledge of uniform guidelines and advises students and their families of uniform requirements
  • Serves as the liaison between the school and uniform vendors and coordinates meetings with the principals and Director of Finance to discuss uniform guidelines and planning
  • Keeps leadership aware of trends, best practices, and new opportunities
  • Assumes other responsibilities as assigned

  • Business, Marketing and/or Retail Experience Required: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Strong organization, sales, and planning skills
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills
  • Outstanding Customer service skills
  • Ability to operate basic business software programs
  • Adobe Illustrator experience preferred
  • A commitment to professional development and lifelong learning
  • A passion for integrating faith into daily activities
  • A genuine ability to “connect” with and serve families in a Christian community
