Location: West Sacramento, California

Salary: $21.53-$24.39 per hour

**Incumbent eligible for a $500 signing bonus payable after 6 months of continuous service **

Position Overview: The Filler Machine Operator operates machines that perform one or more package filling functions.

Language Skills: English proficiency required. Spanish is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Amount of Travel Involved: None.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.
  • Sets up and operates Foamer to clean the filler machines and area.
  • Perform primary package inspections and complete paperwork.
  • Perform Monitor Checks by checking codes and temperatures of product.
  • Operates the baling machine.
  • Cleans the floors.
  • Sweep the line to be conducted upon completion of production run and before start-up of a new flavor, ensuring all containers of the previous flavor have been removed.
  • Notify Supervisor when material/package quality issues are observed.
  • Notify Supervisor and/or Maintenance of any equipment malfunctions.
  • Complete and turn in the package check and Can Filler Daily Cleaning sheets.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Follow Pre-Start Up process – Check the Work Order to ensure correct bottles and caps are staged.
  • Operates the Crown Can Filler machine in “Manual” and “Automatic” operations for Line 1.
  • Clears away damaged packaging.
  • Loads can ends into machine.
  • Monitors filling during production and completes paperwork.
  • Documents any down time on the Production Line Down Time Report.
  • Ensures correct ends are staged.
  • Operates the Solbern Can Filler machine in “Manual” and “Automatic” operations on Line 4 for big and small cans.
  • Makes minor adjustments to nitrogen application and clears away damaged packaging.
  • Monitors filling during production and completes paperwork.
  • Follow Pre-Start Up process and checks the Work Order to ensure correct bottles and caps are staged.
  • Operates the US Bottler Filler and Sidel Cap Sorter machines in “Manual” and “Automatic” operations for Line 3.
  • Makes minor adjustments such as turning on line lube, hopper, rinser, conveyors, and sterilizer features, operating steam tunnel, or clearing away damaged or excess packaging.
  • Loads caps into machines.
  • Monitors filling during production and completes paperwork.
  • Checks for correct height setting and adjust head height for fill level, as needed.
  • Removes broken bottles.
  • General

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) required.
  • 6 months of experience in a bottling facility preferred.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment and forklifts. The employee is regularly exposed to heat and/or cold indoor conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
