Job Summary:

The Gardener is responsible for maintaining the beauty and health of Relax & Company’s clients’ outdoor spaces, including gardens, lawns, and landscapes, as well as performing regular maintenance tasks to ensure these spaces are vibrant and well-kept. The position may interact with clients where customer service is a core responsibility. The Gardener will work with the Landscaping team to help Relax & Company’s clients’ properties look their best. The Gardener reports directly to the Maintenance Landscape Foreman.

Primary Duties:

• Plant, water, and care for flowers, shrubs, trees, and other plants.

• Ensure safe and efficient use of tools and equipment relating to gardening work, including but not limited to shovels, rakes, and pruners.

• Perform and report on routine inspection and maintenance of equipment and stocking supplies.

• Keep records of work performed and report any issues or concerns to the Landscape Foreman.

• Conduct regular inspections to identify pests, diseases, and other plant-related issues.

• Follow all health and safety regulations including use of Personal Protective Equipment.

• Manage work order and purchase order processes as outlined by Relax & Company protocols.

• Assist with landscape design and installation projects as directed.

• Identify and act on customers' needs by delivering the best in customer services to all clients, existing and potential.

Experience:

• Experience working with customers, directly.

• Experience working in seasonal outdoor conditions.

Licenses & Certificates:

• Valid Driver’s License preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Mechanical skills to use light equipment, regularly.

• Physical stamina to handle the long hours of performing strenuous work during the day in hot or cold weather.

• Must have high attention to detail and the stamina to drive heavy equipment for long periods of time, often late at night or early in the morning.

• Prolonged periods of standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.

• Physical strength when performing heavy labor is required. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at a time.

• Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
