Instrumentation Technician
- Contract Position

Job Description:
The Instrumentation Technician II will install test equipment in development vehicles such as thermocouples, transducers, sensors, fiber optics, and accelerometers. The role will build, modify, adjust and calibrate installed devices, as well as build and install low voltage wire harnesses to drawings and schematics.
As an Instrumentation Technician II, you will be responsible for:
Building and installing low voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring harnesses, auxiliary battery and electrical systems
Installing, adjusting and calibrating sensors, shunts, fiber optics, accelerometers and data acquisition systems
Collaborating with customers, fabricators, and mechanics to identify required locations for sensor installation according to Instrumentation Requirement List (IRL)
Assisting in performing complete functional inspection and prove-out of instrumentation according to Instrumentation Quality Assurance (IQA)
Diagnosing faulty low voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring systems and repair
Working with electronic functional and measurement tools, such as power supplies, function generators, and multimeter
Maintaining records by entering notes into service repair requests
Keeping shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
To be considered as an Instrumentation Technician, you will need:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 4 years of Instrumentation Technician experience
Able to follow any procedures or work instructions provided for assigned projects, such as work requests, shop procedures and/or shop manuals, publications or schematic diagrams
Have good organizational skills
Be a self-starter & self-motivated
Experience performing soldering, crimping, tube bending, component layout, and packaging on vehicles or subsystems
Possess the skills to work in a team atmosphere & learn new tasks
Have excellent communication & time management skills
Have reliable attendance & be able to work overtime/weekends
Must have good attention to detail
Preferred skills / qualifications:
Knowledge of proper installation of thermocouples and pressure transducers
Certificate in Automotive Technology or related.
National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s).
State Mechanic Certification(s).
Valid driver’s license.
