Lead In-Home Therapist

WellStone is North Alabama’s most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons a year in Huntsville and Cullman. We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adults.

We are hiring for an In-Home Therapist in our Neaves Davis Program working with families. The In-Home Therapist position accesses crisis needs and solutions to resolve immediate crisis. This position provides continuous monitoring of the status of clients being served.

What We're Looking For:

• Master’s in Human Service Field
• Prefer experience working with co-occurring illness
• Must attend Case Management Training
• Valid Alabama driver’s license
• Good 5-year motor vehicle record
• Reliable transportation
• Minimum of $300,00/$100,000/$50,000 personal automobile liability insurance
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work non-traditional hours/days
• Utilize personal vehicle to perform work duties
• Must attend on-line SOAR training

What You'll Be Doing:

• Maintain a 20-person caseload in fast-past environment
• Provide mentoring to case manager in a positive constructive manner
• Provide at least 4 home visits each day, Monday – Friday
• Initiate and follow up on referrals
• Schedule and attend bi-weekly staffing with supervisor
• Provide comprehensive clinical assessment during staffing
• Follow up on referrals within 48-hour period
• Conduct psychosocial assessments upon admission
• Provide individual/team intervention sessions in client’s home environment/community
• Documentation must be completed within a 24-hour period
• Perform mental health consultations
• Initiate petitions and attend court when necessary
• Provide psychoeducation sessions with families
• Conduct Case Management services as necessary
• Ensure Treatment plan and ISP reviews are completed quarterly
• Follow up on task related to client’s treatment
• Initiate SOAR applications for self-pay clients
• Advocate on behalf of client to assist with gaining access to community resources
• Collaborate professionally with intra-departments and outside agencies
• Perform crisis intervention and resolution
• Participate in training opportunities as required and/or scheduled
• Go into clients home/community to provide services as well as work closely with probation officers and juvenile staff to ensure adequate client care
• Assist Manager/Coordinator with task when absent
• Complete all other duties and task as assigned
